Uzbekistan to Introduce “Golden Visas” for $200,000

  • Apr 21, 2025

According to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan, based on a presidential decree, the country will launch a “golden visa” program starting from June 1 of this year. This initiative will allow foreign citizens and stateless persons to obtain a residence permit in Uzbekistan through a simplified procedure, provided they pay a specified amount.

To obtain a five-year residence permit, the applicant will need to make a payment of $200,000. For each additional family member, including a spouse, children, and parents, an additional $100,000 must be paid.

It should be noted that a residence permit is an official document that confirms the right of a person who is not a citizen of a particular state (i.e., a foreign citizen or stateless person) to reside long-term in the territory of that state.

The introduction of “golden visas” could attract foreign investors and qualified specialists interested in long-term residence in Uzbekistan, thereby contributing to the country’s economic and social development.
